Personal Injury - Case 12

Elderly Woman Injured by Fall on College Campus: Unsafe Premises Proved; Case Settled Prior to Trial

StairsWe represented the claimant, a 76-year old woman, who was seriously injured while on the premises of a private college in Phoenix, Arizona. Our client was exiting the college's activity center in the early evening (after having attended a memorial service for a deceased friend) when she fell on the front stairs. Our investigation revealed that the stairs lacked adequate handrails and that the area in which our client fell was poorly lit. Our client filed suit against the college for failing to maintain safe premises. The matter was settled prior to trial. The settlement cannot be disclosed under the terms of a confidentiality agreement.
